Dr. Sudhir Srivastava, company chair and CEO, remotely performed an atrial septal defect closure from IRCAD’s headquarters in Strasbourg, France, while the patient was at Sri Aurobindo Institute of Medical Sciences in Indore, India—a distance of over 4,000 miles. The procedure took place during the Society of Robotic Surgery Annual Meeting and featured imperceptible latency and precision control, showcasing Mantra 3’s advanced capabilities.
The Mantra 3 platform supports multiple specialties with modular 3D vision, an open-console design, and machine learning enhancements for safety and efficiency. SS Innovations plans FDA submission this month and hopes for approval later in 2025.
Dr. Srivastava said the milestone marks a step toward democratizing access to complex cardiac care worldwide.
