Philips announced FDA 510(k) clearance for SmartSpeed Precise, its deep-learning reconstruction tool designed to accelerate MRI scans up to three times while producing images up to 80% sharper. The software integrates Philips’ Compressed SENSE acceleration with two AI models for denoising and sharpening.
SmartSpeed Precise is cleared for clinical use on all Philips 1.5T and 3T MRI systems, including installed bases. The technology enables faster, higher-quality imaging with a streamlined single-click workflow, reducing scan times significantly — brain scans can be as short as seven seconds, and breast MRI times cut by up to 50%.
“SmartSpeed Precise helps deliver sharper, faster MRI with less effort,” said Dr. Julian Luetkens of University Hospital Bonn.
