Leos brings advanced laser endoscopy to MIGS landscape
BVI Medical has received FDA 510(k) clearance for its Leos laser endoscopy ophthalmic system, a next-gen device for minimally invasive glaucoma surgery (MIGS).
Leos performs ab interno endoscopic cyclophotocoagulation (ECP) to reduce intraocular pressure by targeting aqueous humor production. What sets Leos apart is its superior anatomical visualization, which BVI says surpasses current imaging technologies.
Designed for intuitive use and seamless OR integration, Leos reflects BVI’s broader innovation strategy. The company is building momentum after a $1 billion capital raise, multiple product approvals, and international expansion.
A U.S. commercial launch is expected in the coming months.
