Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust (MSE FT) is leading the way in digital healthcare transformation with the rollout of the MyStaff App, an AI-powered document management solution developed in collaboration with Diligram. Since its launch in January 2024, the app has drastically reduced the average document search time from 10 minutes to just 30 seconds, unlocking over 140,000 hours for direct patient care.
Designed to provide fast, mobile-first access to more than 1,500 policies, procedures, and clinical guidelines, the app leverages AI search and natural language processing to streamline access to essential documents. As a result, 90% of MSE FT’s 15,000 staff members are now actively using the platform daily, retrieving over 864 documents each day.
Before MyStaff App’s implementation, fragmented systems and outdated interfaces often led to wasted time and inconsistent adherence to clinical guidelines. Today, compliance rates have surged from 76% to 98%, with frontline staff citing improved decision-making, patient safety, and reduced clinical variation as key benefits.
The app also includes real-time audit tracking, allowing leadership to monitor document access and engagement, and offers a single source of truth for all clinical guidance—ensuring updates reach every staff member instantly.
Following its success at MSE FT, University Hospitals Bristol and Weston NHS Foundation Trust has also adopted the system, as NHS organizations across the UK look to replicate the model. This shift aligns with the NHS’s £2 billion digital transformation strategy, focusing on AI-driven automation, interoperability, and real-time analytics.
